‚ÄčThe Battle of Britain lasted from 10 July 1940 through 31 October 1940, starting one month after the Dunkirk evacuation. The plan was for Nazi air superiority over Britain so an invasion would be possible to subjugate the British people. However, the Royal Air Force was able to repulse the Luftwaffe attacks, leading Churchill famously to proclaim that Never, in the course of human conflict have so many owed so much to so few.
